Accounting Manager

One person to take over accounting, HR and legal at a yacht charter company. You take each function over from one of the owners, piece by piece, and your salary rises as you do. 25,000 to 75,000 THB depending on what you can already own — and above that for someone outstanding.

Faraway Yachting has run crewed charters out of Phuket since 1997. Six boats between Phuket and Koh Samui, permanent professionally trained crew, and a small office team that runs the whole thing.

What the job actually is

This is not a corporate department seat. You walk into the Marine Department, Immigration and the police station yourself. You handle crew contracts, Social Security and work permits for people who live on boats. You check the accounting hands-on — we already have an accounting admin, so you are not doing data entry, you are making sure what they did is right. Our contracts with suppliers and contractors are drafted in English; you make sure the Thai version says the same thing, and you build the relationships with government offices that make things move.

You will be the single point the team asks: What am I allowed to do

Our own app handles about 80 percent of the admin. The job is checking what the system got wrong, chasing follow-ups, and making sure nothing falls through. You use AI tools every day — for translation, for checking contracts, for drafting. This matters more to us than years of experience.

Two ways into this role

You do not need to be deep in all three areas. Strong in one, willing to learn the other two.

Around 25,000 THB — you have solid admin experience in one of the three areas and can handle the admin side of the other two. You may be junior. We train you. You need conversational English, a motorbike licence, and to live close enough to Chalong to get in easily.

50,000 to 75,000 THB — you are senior in one area, ideally accounting, and can run the other two without supervision. You have real years behind you and the maturity to own things. Your English is strong, you use AI daily without being told to, and you have a car you can use for work. Mileage is paid on top.

Most people land between the two. The better your English and the more you can own on day one, the higher the number. For an outstanding candidate we go above 75,000.

Requirements

• Fluent Thai, spoken and written. The gap on our team is Thai, not English. Please tell us in your application whether you are fluent in Thai — if not, this is not the role for you.
• English: conversational at minimum. The screening call is in English.
• Eligible to work in Thailand. We do not sponsor work permits.
• Comfortable using AI tools daily.
• Motorbike licence minimum. A car is a strong plus.
• You have worked hands-on in a small company, not only inside a large structure.
• You are comfortable with people from different backgrounds, and comfortable challenging us when we are wrong. We have hired people with no experience and trained them. What we cannot train is mindset.

Conditions

• Chalong, Phuket, on site. We may move to a second office nearby.
• 6 days a week.
• Social security and holidays according to Thai law. Public holidays are taken as leave outside high season.
