Job Title:AI Engineer

Location: SM Tower, Thailand, On-site 5 days (near BTS Sanam Pao)

Job Purpose:

The AI Technical Expert drives the end-to-end design, architecture, and delivery of production-ready AI solutions across Thai Union. Combining deep machine learning expertise with modern GenAI, AI agents, and enterprise automation, this hands-on role bridges business needs with technical execution. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across the full AI lifecycle, from initial problem framing and prototyping through to governed deployment, monitoring, and value realisation.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design and guide the development of AI/ML solutions that address priority business problems, ensuring technical feasibility, scalability, maintainability and measurable business impact.
2. Develop and advise on machine learning use cases such as prediction, classification, optimisation, anomaly detection, forecasting, recommendation and computer vision where appropriate.
3. Apply language-based AI techniques where they add practical value, including knowledge search, document intelligence, summarisation, information extraction and enterprise copilots.
4. Design and prototype AI agents that support business workflows, decision support and task automation, including tool use, workflow integration, orchestration and guardrail design.
5. Assess data readiness, define data requirements and work with data engineering teams to ensure the availability, quality and governance of data needed for AI/ML solutions.
6. Establish technical evaluation methods for AI solutions, including accuracy, reliability, bias, latency, cost, security, explainability and fit-for-purpose performance metrics.
7. Partner with infrastructure, security, data and business teams to move AI/ML prototypes into production, ensuring appropriate architecture, integration, monitoring and operational support.
8. Provide expert technical guidance to business teams, AI champions and project teams, helping them understand what AI can realistically deliver and how to apply it responsibly.
9. Support AI governance by defining technical standards, reusable patterns, documentation practices and risk controls for machine learning, language-based AI and agentic solutions.
10. Stay current on AI/ML technologies, frameworks and deployment patterns, and recommend practical adoption opportunities for Thai Union.

Education/Training Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics or a related technical field.
• Strong technical training in machine learning, natural language processing, software development, data engineering or cloud-based AI platforms.
• Certification or practical training in AI/ML platforms, cloud AI services, MLOps, responsible AI or applied generative AI is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, software engineering or related technical delivery roles.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering machine learning solutions, including model selection, feature engineering, training, evaluation and deployment.
• Experience with AI agents, automation workflows, tool integration or orchestration frameworks is an advantage.
• Practical experience with Python and core ML/DL frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), alongside exposure to LLM ecosystems and cloud-based AI services.
• Experience working with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams to convert requirements into production-ready AI/ML solutions.
