Job Title: Application Development Manager, Personal & Home Care

Position Overview:

Caldic is seeking an experienced and innovative Application Development Manager to lead formulation development and technical application activities within the Personal & Home Care (PHC) business.

The role is focused primarily on skin care, sun care (sunscreen),and adjacent cosmetic categories, working closely with global and regional suppliers to develop scientifically sound, market-relevant formulations that support customer projects and business growth.

The successful candidate will combine deep hands-ontechnical expertise in cosmetic formulation with strong customer-facing capabilities, translating ingredient technologies into differentiated product concepts and commercially viable solutions.

The role requires independent formulation development, technical troubleshooting, supplier collaboration, and cross-functional engagement with commercial, procurement, regulatory, quality, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Formulation Development & Innovation

• Lead the development of innovative, effective, and commercially viable formulations across Skin Care, Sun Care (Sunscreen), and related Personal Care applications.
• Drive new formulation concepts, ingredient evaluation, and application development aligned with customer needs, market trends, and business priorities.
• Provide hands-on expertise in formulation optimization, technical troubleshooting, stability testing, and product performance evaluation.
• Translate new ingredient technologies and supplier innovations into differentiated product concepts and practical customer solutions.

Technical Leadership & Laboratory Management

• Lead, coach, and develop the PHC Application Development team, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Define and execute technical development priorities aligned with business objectives and supplier initiatives.
• Manage the application development project pipeline, ensuring effective prioritization and timely delivery of customer projects.
• Oversee laboratory operations, testing, technical documentation, and formulation scale-up support, ensuring compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Customer Engagement & Commercial Support

• Partner closely with the Commercial team to understand customer needs and develop application-driven solutions that support business opportunities.
• Provide technical consultation, formulation troubleshooting, product demonstrations, and technical presentations to customers.
• Support customer product development and commercialization, from initial formulation concepts through technical validation and scale-up.
• Contribute to business growth and ingredient adoption by demonstrating the technical value and application benefits of Caldic's portfolio.

Supplier Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership

• Collaborate with global and regional ingredient suppliers to evaluate new technologies, develop application concepts, and identify innovation opportunities.
• Work closely with Commercial, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure effective project execution and customer support.
• Share technical knowledge, application insights, and emerging market trends to strengthen internal capabilities and customer engagement.

Position Requirements & Key Abilities:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cosmetic Science, Cosmetic Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation development, preferably with strong exposure to Skin Care and Sun Care (Sunscreen) applications.
• Demonstrated ability to independently design, develop, optimize, and troubleshoot commercially viable cosmetic formulations, including appropriate raw material selection and performance evaluation.
• Strong technical understanding of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, product stability, and application testing.
• Experience in technical team leadership, coaching, laboratory management, or coordinating formulation development projects.
• Strong customer-facing technical communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical customer solutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with ingredient suppliers, commercial teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and commercially minded approach.
• Experience in specialty ingredients distribution, cosmetic manufacturing, or personal care R&D would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in English and Thai for technical communication and stakeholder engagement.
