Position: Assistant Director - Engineering Operation at Corporate Office
Job Objectives
- To lead and optimize engineering and maintenance operations across multiple Dusit properties.
- The engineering manager must ensure the highest safety, efficiency, and sustainability standards.
- Strategically manage and enhance the overall engineering performance within the hotel group.
- The objective is to drive cost-effective solutions, implement innovative technologies, and foster a collaborative and skilled engineering team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the engineering and maintenance teams across the Dusit hotel group.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and other related staff.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, to ensure seamless coordination and support.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects for multiple properties.
- Ensure that all engineering and maintenance activities comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime.
- Develop processes and guide budgets for engineering and maintenance projects.
- Monitor expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
- Coordinate with central purchase Department and negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure favorable terms for the hotel group.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in hotel engineering.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure that all properties within the hotel group comply with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
- Implement D Safe programs to maintain high safety standards of maintenance and operational efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports on the performance of engineering and maintenance activities.
- Provide updates to AVP Technical Services & Group Engineering on project statuses, budget adherence, and key performance indicators.
- Foster open communication and collaboration between the corporate office and individual properties.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including property managers, executives, and external partners.
- Coordinate and train the preopening engineering SOP and P&P.
- Track the taskforce achievements and support getting them to completion.
- Participate and support D Safe Audits and coordinate and follow up on the action plans.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification (minimum 3-year technical course) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least ten years of experience in hotel engineering in a leadership role (e.g., Director of Engineering or Chief Engineer).
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the hotel industry.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and project management abilities.
- Excellent command of both English and Thai.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Prior experience in a cluster role is highly preferred.
