About Kaygen
Kaygen is an award-winning technology consulting and talent solutions company helping global enterprises build critical capabilities across technology, ERP, data, cloud, AI, engineering and business functions. We work with enterprises and Global Capability Centers through talent solutions, specialist staffing, consulting and workforce build-outs.
Inspired by kaizen - the principle of continuous improvement - Kaygen combines technology expertise, agile execution and a strong commitment to creating measurable value for clients. As we expand our India business, we are building a team of leaders who enjoy creating, growing and improving businesses - not simply managing established processes.
The Opportunity
Kaygen is looking for an accomplished Assistant Finance Controller to strengthen financial controllership, governance, reporting and business analytics for its growing India operations.
This is significantly broader than a general accounting role. The person will take ownership of core finance operations and controls while strengthening management reporting, financial analysis, compliance and process maturity. The role calls for a hands-on finance leader who can move comfortably between accounting accuracy, financial governance and business insight.
As Kaygen scales its India operations, this role offers the opportunity to help build a finance function that is controlled, analytical, scalable and increasingly technology-enabled.
What You Will Own
- Own the integrity of books of accounts and drive timely, accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, including balance-sheet reviews, provisions, reconciliations and financial statements.
- Strengthen financial controllership and internal controls across accounting, payroll, billing, collections, vendor payments, reimbursements and other finance processes.
- Lead management reporting including P&L, cash flow, working capital, profitability, variance analysis and business-performance dashboards, translating financial information into actionable insights.
- Oversee statutory and tax compliance including GST, TDS and other applicable requirements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and audit readiness.
- Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, tax reviews and other financial reviews, ensuring effective closure of observations and improvements to underlying processes.
- Drive stronger discipline around billing, receivables, collections, cash-flow management and working capital, partnering closely with business and operating teams.
- Develop financial analytics to improve visibility into client/account profitability, cost trends, margins, productivity and operating performance.
- Review and strengthen finance SOPs, approval workflows, maker-checker controls and documentation standards as the business scales.
- Champion automation, finance-system improvement and reporting standardization, using data and technology to reduce manual effort and improve decision quality.
- Partner with senior leadership, HR, payroll, operations and business teams on financial planning, commercial decisions, risk management and business-performance improvement.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Chartered Accountant, with approximately 10-15 years of post-qualification/relevant experience in controllership, corporate finance, financial reporting or related roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial statements, statutory compliance, taxation, audit and internal controls.
- Demonstrated experience owning month-end closure, management reporting, balance-sheet governance and finance processes - not merely supporting them.
- Strong analytical capability with experience in MIS, profitability analysis, variance analysis, forecasting and management dashboards.
- Advanced Excel capability; exposure to BI/reporting tools and finance automation would be highly valuable.
- Experience with ERP/accounting platforms such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Tally or comparable systems.
- Experience in staffing, consulting, professional services, payroll/EOR or another transaction-intensive services business would be advantageous.
- Strong judgement, ownership, communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with leadership, auditors and cross-functional teams.
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to play a central role in strengthening Kaygen's India finance organization - combining financial control with business insight and transformation as the company scales.
