Job Description

About Siam Alpha Equity

Siam Alpha Equity (SAE) actively invests in fast-growing SMEs/Tech companies with an aim to support tomorrow's market leaders. SAE partners with exceptional entrepreneurs to nurture portfolio companies for growth and scaling potential. Continually trusted by government agencies in Thailand and esteemed investors, SAE manages private equity investments that balance financial returns with strategic objectives across diverse sectors.

The Role

We are looking for an Associate to join the team. This is a hands-on, deal-side role covering the full PE investment lifecycle, from sourcing and thesis development through due diligence, structuring, and closing. You will work alongside senior team members on live mandates, investment committee preparation, and post-deal value creation. This role suits someone who wants to build a serious PE career, not just model in Excel, but sit in the room when deals get evaluated, structured, and signed.

Responsibilities

Deal & Mandate Origination and Sector Research

  • Identify and evaluate both direct investment opportunities and financial advisory mandates across SAE's target sectors (SMEs, tech, growth-stage Thai companies)
  • Develop and maintain sector theses through primary research, market mapping, and competitive landscape analysis
  • Build and manage relationships with deal and mandate sources (corporates, intermediaries, advisors, founders, government agencies)
  • Screen inbound opportunities against investment criteria for principal deals, and against mandate fit for advisory engagements

Valuation, Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Build and analyze financial models for both principal investments and client mandates, including but not limited to DCF, comparable-company / precedent-transaction, LBO, accretion-dilution, and project feasibility analyses.
  • Conduct return analyses (IRR, MOIC, sensitivity / scenario testing)
  • Develop investment hypotheses, identify key value drivers, and test downside scenarios
  • Translate financial analysis into clear recommendations for senior decision-makers, whether for SAE's investment committee or for client boards and shareholders on advisory mandates

Due Diligence, Investment Committee & Client Deliverables

  • Coordinate financial, commercial, legal, tax, and operational DD across external advisors
  • Synthesize DD findings into IC papers, including thesis, structure, returns, key risks, and recommendations
  • Draft term sheets and support negotiation of key commercial terms
  • Prepare materials for investment committee and board approval gates and/or client-facing advisory deliverables
  • Manage data rooms, buyer or seller Q&A, and process timetables on live advisory mandates, and support vendor DD workstreams

Transaction Execution

  • Support deal structuring for SAE's own investments and on behalf of advisory clients, under senior guidance
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on SPA, SHA, and related transaction documents
  • Manage closing checklists, conditions precedent, and signing logistics
  • Liaise with advisory clients, target management, sellers, buyers, and co-investors throughout execution, including negotiation support and progress reporting to clients

Portfolio Support & Advisory Cross-Functional Support

  • Support the portfolio management function as needed, including add-on M&A, follow-on financing, exit positioning, and board / governance matters alongside senior team members
  • Contribute to relevant investment/fund reports, fund updates, and ad-hoc strategic reviews
  • Take on special project mandates as they arise, including new fund origination materials, sector studies, and other firm-level initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field. CFA / MBA / CPA is a plus
  • 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or M&A.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and financial literacy are a must
  • Sector curiosity, ability to develop investment theses through primary research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both Thai and English (Thai business register required).
  • Thai citizenship or native-level Thai proficiency
  • Polished presentation craft (PowerPoint / Word / Excel)
  • Comfort working in a lean team where roles flex with deal flow; resourcefulness, ownership, and intellectual humility valued over title hierarchy
