Job Summary

The Automation / Electrical – Technician is responsible for supporting electrical maintenance activities, automation projects, machine troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing facility.

The role involves maintaining electrical systems, supporting PLC-based equipment, installing and calibrating sensors, assisting with machine upgrades, and contributing to productivity, quality, safety, and Digital Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, drives, control panels, sensors, and machine wiring.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and machinery.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable safety regulations and company standards.

Automation & Control Systems

• Support PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and sensor-based automation systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving automation-related machine failures and breakdowns.
• Participate in machine control system modifications and performance improvement activities.
• Perform installation, calibration, and verification of industrial sensors and instruments.
• Support automation projects, equipment upgrades, and new machine commissioning activities.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in productivity improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and production downtime.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation improvements.
• Support implementation of Industry 4.0, digitalization, and smart manufacturing initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and spare part information.
• Update electrical drawings, schematics, and machine documentation.
• Prepare maintenance reports, downtime reports, and project status updates.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and aligned with company standards.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow all electrical safety procedures and Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) requirements.
• Comply with company safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections.
• Promote safe work practices and a strong safety culture.

Required Qualifications

Educational Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering or Equivalent

Experience

• 0-2 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and practical training are encouraged to apply.

Required Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of electrical systems, motors, relays, contactors, and control circuits.
• Knowledge of PLC systems such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Allen-Bradley.
• Familiarity with industrial sensors including:
• Photoelectric Sensors
• Proximity Sensors
• Laser Sensors
• Temperature Sensors
• Basic knowledge of HMI and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems.
• Ability to use electrical testing and measurement instruments such as:
• Multimeter
• Clamp Meter
• Insulation Resistance Tester (Megger)
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or practical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to PLC programming, electrical panel wiring, or factory automation systems.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.
• Familiarity with industrial communication networks and Industry 4.0 concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
