Job Description
Our client is a leading insurance organisation seeking an experienced commercial insurance professional to join its Corporate & Commercial Insurance team.
This opportunity is ideal for commercially minded underwriters looking to broaden their scope beyond technical underwriting into portfolio ownership, business development, strategic partnerships, and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of SME and corporate insurance clients
- Drive new business opportunities through strategic partnerships and distribution channels
- Underwrite commercial risks while maintaining portfolio profitability and underwriting discipline
- Build strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders
- Support business growth initiatives, customer engagement campaigns, and strategic projects
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to operational improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience within Commercial Lines, General Insurance, Corporate Insurance, or Commercial Underwriting
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and underwriting principles
- Experience managing SME and/or corporate insurance portfolios
- Proven ability to build client relationships and support business growth
- Exposure to products such as Property, Liability, Financial Lines, Marine, Employee Benefits, WICA, Cyber, or related classes would be advantageous
- Professional qualifications such as BCP, PGI, CGI/ComGI, HI, ANZIIF or ACII are beneficial
