Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The BU Director is accountable for delivering sustainable, profitable growth for the business at the country level, aligned with Teleflex's enterprise strategy, operating principles, and values.

This role provides end‑to‑end leadership for commercial execution, operational excellence, and talent development, across direct sales and distributor‑led markets. The BU Director translates regional and global priorities into disciplined local execution, ensuring strong customer outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a high‑performance culture that reflects Teleflex's commitment to patients, integrity, and ownership.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enterprise & Business Leadership

  • Own full P&L accountability for the business within the region/ country, delivering against short- and long-term financial objectives.

  • Translate Teleflex APAC and global strategies into clear country business plans, ensuring focused execution and measurable outcomes.

  • Establish and govern budgets, forecasts, and operating plans in line with Teleflex financial discipline and growth priorities.

  • Drive profitable growth, market share expansion, and cash discipline, balancing investment decisions with ROI rigor.

  • Continuously monitor the competitive, regulatory, and customer environment to proactively manage risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Commercial Excellence & Market Execution

  • Lead and develop a high performing direct sales organization, ensuring strong execution discipline, customer coverage, and pipeline health.

  • Establish, manage, and optimize distributor and channel partner models in accordance with Teleflex's channel governance framework.

  • Drive consistent sales execution, pricing discipline, and account prioritization aligned with Teleflex's commercial excellence standards.

  • Personally engage with key customers, KOLs, government stakeholders, and strategic accounts to strengthen partnerships and influence outcomes.

  • Oversee approvals for non standard commercial terms and key contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards.

Distributor & Channel Governance

  • Identify, select, and appoint distributors based on strategic fit, compliance capability, and long term value creation.

  • Lead channel strategy, performance management, and capability development to ensure sustainable and compliant growth.

  • Conduct regular business reviews with distributors using defined KPIs to drive accountability, improvement, and alignment.

  • Ensure distributor operations meet Teleflex standards for product handling, data integrity, training, and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain up to date distributor agreements, SOPs, and governance documentation.

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a strong leadership bench in line with Teleflex's talent, succession, and capability frameworks.

  • Coach and develop managers through clear goal setting, performance management, and feedback.

  • Partner with HR to deploy the right talent solutions, drive engagement, and retain high potential employees.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, accountability, and ethical behavior, consistent with Teleflex values.

Cross Functional & APAC Collaboration

  • Partner closely with APAC leadership and global functions to align on strategy, resource planning, and execution priorities.

  • Create strong cross functional collaboration across Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR.

  • Drive operational excellence through simplified processes, clear decision rights, and disciplined execution.

  • Governance, Ethics & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to Teleflex policies, local regulations, industry codes, and governance requirements.

  • Promote a strong culture of compliance, integrity, and risk awareness across direct and distributor organizations.

  • Act as a role model for ethical leadership and sound decision making.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial leadership roles within the medical device or healthcare industry.

  • Proven success leading country level businesses with P&L accountability.

  • Demonstrated experience managing direct sales teams and distributor/channel models.

  • Experience in cardiovascular or interventional therapies strongly preferred.

  • Exposure to complex, regulated healthcare markets within APAC or globally.

  • Financially astute with strong ROI, budgeting, and forecasting capability.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements.

  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to align teams around strategy.

  • Fluent in English and relevant local language(s).

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, as required.
