Position: Construction Manager (Retail)
Job description
- Led end-to-end construction projects for new stores, relocations, refurbishments, extensions, downsizing, and sale-and-leaseback initiatives.
- Provided engineering and technical expertise, including landlord negotiations and management of technical project requirements.
- Coordinated technical due diligence activities, including structural, environmental, and soil assessments.
- Managed tendering, contractor selection, contract negotiations, and construction delivery within budget and schedule.
- Ensured compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, sustainability targets, and local regulatory requirements.
- Conducted site inspections and quality audits to monitor construction progress and safety compliance.
- Oversaw permit applications, certifications, project documentation, handovers, and post-opening warranty support.
- Managed project scope, budget, timeline, risks, and stakeholder communications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supported store optimization projects, including major refurbishments, expansions, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Identified innovative construction solutions, sustainability opportunities, and new vendor partnerships to reduce costs and environmental impact.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing retail, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
- Proven experience in new store development, fit-out, refurbishment, relocation, and
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, risks, and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in English
