JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Safety Department (Bangkok Office), is responsible for leading and strengthening B.Grimm Power's Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) function across the organization. The role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SHE policies, standards, and management systems to ensure full compliance with legal requirements and international best practices. This position plays a key role in driving a strong safety culture and ensuring safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplaces across all business units.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning and Policy
- Define the vision, strategy, and annual goals for the Safety Department in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain SHE management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS) to meet corporate and regulatory expectations.
- Establish and update corporate SHE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Oversight and Operations
- Oversee safety inspections, risk assessments, hazard identification, and control measures across all operating units.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with national SHE laws, regulations, and internal standards.
- Lead and oversee the corporate-level review of incident, accident, and near-miss investigations conducted by power plant teams; ensure consistency, provide expert guidance, and track implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate internal and external SHE audits, ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
- Monitor and report on safety performance indicators.
- Provide SHE-related data, insights, and support to the Corporate Sustainability and Climate team.
- Prepare materials and reports for the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Working Team meetings.
Training, Awareness & Communication
- Develop and deliver SHE training programs for employees and contractors at all levels.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and strengthen SHE awareness through campaigns, communications, and engagement activities.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and manage the safety team at headquarters; support SHE teams at power plants and operating units.
- Provide professional guidance and recommendations to senior management on significant or emerging SHE issues.
- Support enterprise-level risk assessment, climate-related physical risk, and emergency response planning.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with internal teams.
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineer or Science program in Occupational Health and Safety or other related fields.
- Possession of a Safety Officer (Technical or Professional Level) certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant SHE experience, preferably in power plants, utilities, or renewable energy sectors.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and related management systems.
- Demonstrates a positive work attitude, integrity, and commitment to high safety standards.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in workplace digital tools.
- Good command of English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Willingness to travel to provincial power plant sites as required.
