Data Center Build Engineer

Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and help build the physical infrastructure that powers our cloud.

As a Senior Data Center Build Engineer, you'll lead and coordinate cabling and infrastructure implementation across Oracle data centers, working closely with program teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and on time.

What You'll Do

• Lead structured cabling deployment for new data center builds, expansions, and upgrades.
• Coordinate physical infrastructure implementation across multiple projects and sites.
• Review project scope, Bill of Materials, resources, timelines, and delivery requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex cabling and connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Partner with Program Management teams to track milestones, risks, and project delivery.
• Manage vendors through planning, build execution, progress reviews, and issue resolution.
• Support vendor evaluation and selection activities.
• Maintain and improve cabling, build, and infrastructure standards.
• Develop repeatable solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and consistency across data center builds.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior team members.

What You'll Bring

• Strong experience in data center build, structured cabling, or physical infrastructure deployment.
• Solid understanding of cabling systems, connectivity, and data center build standards.
• Experience managing moderately complex infrastructure projects and multiple workstreams.
• Strong vendor management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to identify risks, solve technical issues, and keep delivery on track.
• Strong documentation, planning, and communication skills.
• A continuous-improvement mindset with a focus on quality, scalability, and customer experience.
