Department Manager Product Assessment

Key Responsibility:

• Consumer Trend & Insight: Identify consumer trends, needs, preferences and unmet needs to generate actionable insights for product development and category growth.
• Product Assessment & Sensory Evaluation: Lead product assessment through sensory evaluation, consumer testing, benchmarking and comparative product studies.
• Test Methodology & Data Analysis: Design appropriate testing methodologies, define evaluation criteria and apply statistical data analysis to interpret results and support evidence-based product decisions.
• R&D & Innovation: Collaborate with R&D, Innovation, Marketing and cross-functional teams to evaluate product concepts, improve existing products and support new product development.
• Product Performance & Quality: Evaluate product performance against consumer expectations, quality requirements, safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Insights & Recommendations: Translate consumer feedback, sensory results and statistical findings into clear recommendations for product improvement, innovation and commercialization.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with relevant teams and external partners to ensure product assessment findings are translated into actionable improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Sensory Science, Consumer Science, Statistics or a related field.
• Relevant experience in Consumer Insight, Product Assessment, Sensory Evaluation, R&D or Product Innovation.
• Hands-on experience in designing sensory evaluation and consumer testing methodologies.
• Strong statistical data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret test results and translate findings into business and product recommendations.
• Understanding of consumer trends, preferences and product performance evaluation.
• Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, Innovation, Marketing and other relevant teams.
• Knowledge of product quality, safety and regulatory requirements is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and presentation skills.
