Salary: THB 150,000–200,000 per month (negotiable)

Bonus: Variable bonus available

Industry: Chemical Manufacturing

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced EHSQ Manager to lead Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) activities for our operations in Thailand.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a senior EHS professional with a strong background in chemical manufacturing, experience in greenfield or brownfield projects, and a genuine passion for building a proactive safety culture.

You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening operational and process safety, managing site-level EHSQ activities, and engaging stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with practical operational involvement, effective communication, and the ability to influence and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. EHS Leadership & Safety Culture

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHSQ policies, standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through visible safety leadership, employee engagement, awareness campaigns, and training.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement safety programmes covering high-risk activities, permit-to-work systems, job safety analysis, and critical risk management.
  • Ensure effective emergency preparedness and response across site operations.

2. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Thai occupational health, safety, environmental, and relevant industrial regulations.
  • Maintain and monitor the validity and renewal of all required EHS permits, licences, and approvals.
  • Liaise with relevant government authorities and external stakeholders on regulatory and operational matters.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support process safety initiatives, including HAZOP, FMEA, management of change (MOC), and pre-start-up safety reviews (PSSR).
  • Oversee hazardous waste management, wastewater and scrubber discharge compliance, and other environmental control measures.

3. Operational EHS & Project Support

  • Provide hands-on EHS support for daily chemical plant operations, maintenance activities, and project execution.
  • Support greenfield and brownfield project activities through risk assessments, safety reviews, and the implementation of appropriate risk controls.
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, contractors, and other internal stakeholders to ensure safe working practices.
  • Establish and maintain EHS programmes covering PPE, risk assessments, medical surveillance, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout (LOTO).
  • Monitor operational performance, investigate non-conformances, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.

4. EHSQ Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and improve the Integrated Management System in line with applicable ISO standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, management reviews, and the timely closure of audit findings.
  • Ensure EHS documentation, standard operating procedures, and legal registers remain current and compliant.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise management on necessary compliance actions and improvement plans.

5. Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Build strong working relationships with site management, employees, contractors, customers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Communicate EHSQ requirements clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Promote accountability and ownership of safety across the organisation.
  • Provide practical advice to management and operational teams on EHS risks, compliance requirements, and improvement opportunities.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Please read carefully: Candidates must meet all the following criteria to be considered.

Hazardous Substance Certificate: Must hold the relevant hazardous substance certificate and be registered with the Ministry of Industry (MOI).

Chemical Manufacturing Experience: Must have direct, relevant experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment. Experience from other industries alone will not be sufficient.

Candidates who do not meet these mandatory requirements will not be considered.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 8–10 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably within chemical manufacturing or plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Thai occupational safety, environmental, and industrial regulations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Knowledge of process safety, hazardous substances, dangerous goods regulations, and environmental management.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, influence cross-functional teams, and manage operational priorities effectively.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with regional EHS leadership, engage with stakeholders across the business, and take ownership of both operational EHS activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

We are looking for someone who leads by example, understands the realities of plant operations, and is passionate about making safety an integral part of how a business operates.

If you have the required chemical manufacturing experience, relevant hazardous substance certification and MOI registration, and a proven track record in hands-on EHS leadership, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
