Our client is a leading financial institution with a significant and complex balance sheet across Asia. As part of its continued focus on financial resource optimisation and returns, the client is seeking to appoint an experienced Executive Director to provide strategic leadership across Balance Sheet Optimisation and support senior management in driving sustainable financial performance.

Responsibilities

Working closely with senior Finance, Treasury and business leadership, you will drive the optimisation of a large and complex balance sheet within a Capital Markets environment. You will provide financial insight and challenge to support decisions around balance sheet deployment, funding, capital utilisation, liquidity and returns.

You will partner closely with Treasury and Capital Markets stakeholders on the deployment of financial resources across products and businesses, including management of excess liquidity, secured and unsecured funding, repos, loan and investment instruments, funds transfer pricing (FTP), funding costs and margin optimisation. You will assess balance sheet capacity, capital and liquidity implications and relative returns to influence how financial resources are allocated and deployed.

As a senior finance partner, you will provide analysis and recommendations to executive management on business performance, product economics, pricing and balance sheet strategy, balancing commercial objectives against capital, liquidity, regulatory and risk considerations. You will also contribute to strategic planning, forecasting, performance management and senior management reporting as appropriate.

Qualifications

You are an experienced Finance or Treasury leader with extensive Balance Sheet Optimisation experience gained within Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Treasury or a closely related function within a major global or universal bank.

You will have worked with a sizeable and complex balance sheet and possess strong practical understanding of funding, liquidity deployment, capital and RWA efficiency, FTP, repos, financial instruments, product economics and margin management. Experience influencing product pricing and financial resource allocation will be highly relevant.

You are likely to have operated at Director or Executive Director level for at least four to five years, with the seniority and credibility to influence business, Finance and Treasury leadership. You possess strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and communication skills, with a track record of translating balance sheet and financial considerations into business decisions.
