What we need:
Reporting to the Finance Director Thailand, this role will be an integral part of the company's finance department in providing support to critical aspects of finance process, including system implementation and process improvements, financial analysis, financial management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, accounts receivable management, disbursements, and taxes. This role will be based in Bangkok Thailand.
Key responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Review accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure reasonableness, completeness, and conformance to financial reporting standards.
- Ensure appropriate recording and recognition of financial transactions, including accounting for various construction costs and equipment, revenue contracts, and power purchase agreements.
- Interface with Group Finance in communicating and reporting monthly financial results and analysis and preparing other consolidation requirements.
- Assist in annual financial statements audit and statutory reporting.
- Monitor compliance with the Board of Investments and handle required reportorial submissions.
- Provide support in transaction processing, including reimbursements, cash advances and funds liquidations, and accruals.
Credit Evaluation, Billing and Collection
- Conduct KYC and credit verification of customers through review of available information and corporate documents, prior to system approval.
- Prepare/generate, review and issue billing invoices.
- Detect, handle, and resolve billing discrepancies and billing abnormalities/erroneous billings, handle customer billing complaints, inquiries, requests, concerns, and resolutions.
- Administer and manage collections, including coordination with customers; analyze outstanding receivables and identify action plan for overdue accounts.
- Maintain monthly collection report analysis and documentations including Invoices and Official Receipts.
- Ensure appropriate and timely recognition of revenue and all related accounts.
- Assist in updating credit policy in coordination with the corporate team, specifying credit-granting authority, credit limit methodology and other standard credit terms.
Disbursements Management
- Review vendor invoices and supporting documents and ensure spending is within budgets prior to payment endorsements.
- Facilitate transition to in-house payment processing upon implementation of finance and accounting system.
- Ensure appropriate recording and recognition of disbursements, including related taxes.
System Implementation and Business Process Improvements
- Monitor the implementation of finance and accounting system in the Thailand office, including overseeing key transition activities (journal and accounts set-up, data uploads, testing and acceptance, scenario analyses, parallel run, go-live and post-implementation support).
- Design, improve, and localize existing finance and treasury processes, policies, and procedures with the goal of driving efficiencies and automation while maintaining effective controls.
- Organize billing and collection logistics and establish different collection channels and payment gateways.
- Streamline and further automate the disbursement process through bank partnerships and system utilization.
Taxes
- Lead application for electronic filing and payment system and link with existing online banking facility.
- Initiate application and registration for computerized accounting system.
- Review and ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns, including withholding taxes, VAT, local business taxes, and income tax, in compliance with Thailand regulations.
The successful candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- 58 years of experience in Financial Reporting, FP&A, Treasury, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical skills and high level of business acumen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English and Thai.
