About the Opportunity
Our client is a publicly listed organization seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee the overall Finance & Accounting function while supporting corporate governance, investor relations, strategic planning, and business growth initiatives.
Depending on the candidate's experience, leadership capability, and capital market exposure, the position may be appointed as either Financial Controller or Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This role will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, investors, regulators, and key stakeholders to strengthen financial performance, governance standards, and long-term shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Business Strategy

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights, scenario analysis, and recommendations to support key business decisions.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, business expansion projects, and strategic transactions.

Finance & Accounting Management

  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, treasury, taxation, and compliance functions.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.

Treasury & Capital Management

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Support financing activities, capital structure management, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Oversee foreign exchange exposure and financial risk management.

Investor Relations & Capital Markets

  • Support communications with investors, analysts, shareholders, and capital market stakeholders.
  • Participate in the preparation of annual reports, management discussion and analysis, investor presentations, and financial announcements.
  • Support business visibility and investor confidence through transparent and effective communication.

Corporate Governance & Company Secretary Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with listing requirements, corporate governance standards, and statutory obligations.
  • Support Board of Directors and shareholder meeting processes.
  • Coordinate corporate disclosures and regulatory submissions.

Risk Management & Internal Controls

  • Strengthen internal control frameworks and risk management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop Finance, Accounting, and related support functions.
  • Build organizational capability and succession planning within the finance organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional business leaders to support corporate objectives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Proven leadership experience as Financial Controller, Finance Director, Head of Finance, Deputy CFO, VP Finance, or CFO.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, FP&A, treasury, taxation, compliance, and corporate governance.
  • Experience within a publicly listed company environment is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to investor relations, fundraising, capital markets, M&A, or strategic finance activities would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS/TFRS, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
