Job Description

Support the development and implementation of fraud strategy and prevention initiatives by analyzing fraud risks, developing fraud policies and governance requirements, assessing customer risk, identifying emerging scam risks, maintaining fraud typologies, and providing strategic fraud insights.

The role works independently on assigned responsibilities and collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement effective fraud prevention measures. The role also supports the Manager and relevant advisors in strengthening the company's overall fraud strategy and governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

Fraud Policy & Governance

  • Support the development, review, and implementation of fraud prevention policies, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Conduct analysis and identify gaps in existing fraud policies, processes, and controls.
  • Draft and update fraud policy documents based on business requirements, regulatory changes, and emerging fraud risks.
  • Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, AML, Product, Operations, Technology, and Business teams during policy development and review.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions to gather requirements, resolve issues, and align on policy implementation.
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments relevant to fraud prevention and identify potential impacts on existing policies.
  • Support periodic policy reviews and recommend improvements to strengthen fraud governance.
  • Maintain proper documentation of policy changes, stakeholder feedback, and implementation requirements.
  • Escalate significant policy or governance issues to the Manager or relevant advisor for further direction.

Customer Profiling / Risk Rating

  • Support the development and maintenance of customer fraud risk profiling and risk-rating frameworks.
  • Analyze customer characteristics, transaction behavior, fraud history, and other relevant risk indicators.
  • Identify high-risk customer segments and recommend appropriate preventive or monitoring measures.
  • Support the review and calibration of customer risk-rating criteria based on fraud trends and business changes.
  • Work with Data, Risk, Product, Operations, and Technology teams to implement customer risk-rating requirements.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of customer risk-rating approaches and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare analysis and recommendations for management or relevant stakeholders.

Scam Prevention

  • Monitor and analyze emerging scam trends, fraud methods, and attack patterns.
  • Conduct analysis of scam cases to identify root causes, vulnerabilities, and key risk indicators.
  • Support the development and implementation of scam prevention measures across customer journeys, products, and payment channels.
  • Coordinate with Product, Operations, Technology, Customer Service, Risk, and Compliance teams to implement preventive controls.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing scam prevention measures and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare scam risk assessments and recommendations for relevant stakeholders.
  • Escalate significant or emerging scam risks and provide supporting analysis to management.

Fraud Typology Mapping

  • Maintain and update the company's fraud typology framework and taxonomy.
  • Analyze fraud cases, incidents, and trends to identify new or emerging fraud typologies.
  • Map fraud typologies across customer segments, products, channels, transaction types, and fraud scenarios.
  • Identify key risk indicators and common characteristics associated with each fraud typology.
  • Link fraud typologies to relevant policies, controls, risk indicators, and prevention measures.
  • Coordinate with Fraud Operations, Fraud Analytics, Risk, Compliance, and other relevant teams to validate fraud typology information.
  • Provide recommendations for updates to the fraud typology framework based on emerging fraud trends.

Strategic Reporting & Awareness

  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc fraud strategy and prevention reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze fraud trends, scam activity, fraud losses, risk exposure, and prevention performance.
  • Develop actionable insights and recommendations based on fraud data and intelligence.
  • Prepare management presentations and supporting materials for fraud-related meetings and governance forums.
  • Monitor key Fraud KPIs/KRIs and highlight significant trends or emerging risks.
  • Support the development of fraud awareness materials, alerts, and internal communication.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to communicate emerging fraud and scam risks and recommended preventive actions.
  • Continuously improve fraud reporting and awareness materials to ensure they are clear, accurate, and actionable.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, AML, Product, Operations, Technology, Data, and Business teams on fraud-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional discussions and working sessions for fraud policy, governance, and prevention initiatives.
  • Gather and consolidate stakeholder requirements and translate them into practical fraud controls or policy requirements.
  • Provide fraud-related analysis and recommendations to support stakeholder decision-making.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and facilitate alignment on fraud prevention requirements.
  • Support the Manager and advisors by providing data, analysis, and recommendations for strategic fraud initiatives.
  • Follow up on agreed actions and support stakeholders through implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 years+ of experience in Fraud Management, Fraud Strategy, Fraud Prevention, Risk Management, Financial Crime, or related areas.
  • Experience in e-Payment, Digital Payment, FinTech, Banking, or Financial Services is preferred.
  • Experience in fraud policy, governance, risk assessment, fraud prevention, or control development.
  • Good understanding of fraud risk, scam prevention, customer risk assessment, and fraud typologies.
  • Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to fraud and financial crime.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects or assignments.
  • Experience with data analysis, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is an advantage.
