Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, managing supplier performance, cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and supporting business growth across multiple manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global commodity and sourcing strategies for assigned materials, components, and services.
- Manage the supplier portfolio globally, including supplier selection, qualification, development, and performance evaluation.
- Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, contracts, capacity, lead time, and other commercial conditions.
- Drive cost reduction, cost avoidance, and productivity improvement initiatives to achieve annual purchasing targets.
- Analyze commodity market trends, raw material pricing, supply-demand conditions, and supplier risks to support sourcing decisions.
- Develop and maintain alternative and competitive supplier sources to minimize supply chain risks and ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate with Engineering, NPI, Quality, Operations, Planning, Finance, and other stakeholders on new projects and sourcing activities.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring suppliers meet project requirements for cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and timing.
- Monitor and improve supplier performance in terms of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service, and Technology (QCDST).
- Lead supplier-related risk assessment and mitigation plans, including capacity, financial, geopolitical, and supply continuity risks.
- Manage and negotiate supplier contracts, long-term agreements, and commercial terms in accordance with company policies.
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, localization, dual sourcing, and global sourcing optimization.
- Prepare and present commodity strategies, cost-saving performance, supplier status, market intelligence, and key risks to management.
- Coordinate sourcing activities across multiple sites and regions to ensure alignment with the company's global procurement strategy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, or Supply Chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in strategic/commodity sourcing or a managerial role.
- Strong experience in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, sourcing strategy, contract management, and supplier development.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures.
- Experience in plastic injection molding, tooling, plastic resin, or related commodities would be highly preferred if this position supports your core business.
- Strong knowledge of cost breakdown, should-cost analysis and cost reduction methodologies.
- Experience working with international suppliers and cross-functional/global teams.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for communication with global suppliers; Chinese language skills are a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, ERP/SAP, or other procurement systems.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- The position can be based in either Thailand or China, depending on the candidate's preference.
