Investment Research Analyst

Job Overview:

A family office is seeking to appoint its first dedicated investment professional. The successful candidate will report directly to the Principals, who retain all investment decision-making authority, and will be responsible for providing the analysis on which those decisions are based and for the execution and administration that follows.

The mandate is deliberately broad. Responsibilities are divided approximately evenly between analytical work and the operational administration of the existing portfolio, and candidates should expect the latter to constitute a substantial and continuing part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Portfolio administration. Maintain the consolidated asset register and periodic reporting handle leases of any properties in the portfolio, manage vendor relationships, insurance and banking arrangements monitor financing covenants and cash flow requirements and maintain the corporate and transaction documentation of the office.
• Investment support. Screen prospective opportunities, prepare relevant materials, coordinate due diligence with external advisers, and produce investment reports for the Principals consideration. Support the team in comparing investment products, reviewing investment terms, and monitoring portfolio exposure and performance.
• Fund operations. Administer the family's investment vehicle, including capital calls, distributions and review of net asset value, and manage the relationships with the fund administrator, auditor and legal counsel.
• Ad hoc matters. Support the family on entity formation, adviser coordination, the preparation of meeting materials and such other matters as may arise from time to time.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Three to five years experience in relevant finance, accounting, family office, fund operations.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to review investment information and assess opportunities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with relationship managers, investment professionals, and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in reading financial statements, together with sufficient accounting knowledge to interpret and interrogate a set of management accounts.
• Willingness to undertake administrative and operational responsibilities alongside analytical work.
• A high degree of organisation and the capacity to establish procedures and controls where none presently exist, with limited supervision.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Singapore.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, discreet, and able to handle confidential financial and family-related information. Impeccable discretion and integrity.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with investment research platforms would be an advantage.
