Lead Software Developer - Java

We are looking for a Lead Software Developer - Java with AWS Cloud to drive Java-based services and AWS cloud delivery across front-end and microservices. You will lead technical decisions, partner with architects and the CTO organization, and ensure strong API and data-model quality in a fast-moving environment—apply now.

Responsibilities

• Own the team's technology solutions and be accountable for delivery outcomes
• Set technical direction and guide the team toward sound decisions
• Remove technology roadblocks that impact progress throughout the project
• Collaborate with architects and the CTO organization to maintain governance standards and best practices
• Deliver solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements with high quality
• Improve system designs, architectures, and frameworks to strengthen the platform
• Oversee quality for data models, API contracts, architecture, frameworks, and code
• Support effort estimation, planning, prioritization, and dependency mapping
• Lead while promoting collaboration across teams and stakeholder groups
• Act as a hands-on technologist in AWS Cloud-native microservices architecture
  
  

Requirements

• Proven track record with 8+ years building front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with Java, Node.js, and SpringBoot for API and microservices development
• Deep understanding of AWS Cloud services including ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudWatch
• Solid background working with database technologies such as DynamoDB and Aurora
• Practical knowledge of Agile methodology and API testing tools
• Working knowledge of monitoring platforms such as Splunk
• Strong client-facing communication skills with confident presentation ability
• High attention to detail with comfort navigating ambiguity while keeping work organized
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and coordinating with groups like Vanguard Database, the CTO organization, and API Economy initiatives
• Ability to clarify technical ambiguity and deliver well-defined solutions
