As a Lead eSoftware Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank, Equities Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, support, and maintain a robust Equities Trading Order Management System (OMS) platformfor global markets, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with development teamsto design and build OMS features, including order lifecycle management, trade execution, allocation, and post-trade processing.
- Integrate reliability and automation into the software development lifecycle,promoting best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring for OMS applications.
- Work closely with business stakeholdersto understand client trading requirements and translate them into OMS features and enhancements.
- Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams(Client Onboarding, Exchange Connectivity, Data Quality, Risk, and Compliance) to ensure seamless end-to-end trading flow and accurate order processing.
- Drive and lead impact analysis, actions, and follow-upson exchange and regulatory events affecting OMS functionality, ensuring timely and high-quality implementation of required changes.
- Automate repetitive tasks and processeswithin the OMS environment to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Lead incident response effortsfor OMS-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation, runbooks, and standard operating proceduresfor OMS operations and incident management.
- Engage with cross-functional teamsto foster a culture of reliability, resilience, and operational excellence within the OMS domain.
- Work with various financial data(order, execution, risk, and compliance data) to support business and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other related disciplines
- At least 5 years of related experience in electronic trading systems, OMS, or site reliability engineering.
- Familiarity with Equities Order Management Systems and associated controls.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems, especially in equities trading.
- Hands-on experience in OMS, electronic trading systems, site reliability engineering, or a related field.
- Proficient in scripting and automation using one or more languages (e.g., Python, Bash, etc.).
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies, with a focus on CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
