Lead Software Engineer

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced ICD-ICM Billing Lead Engineer to join our Insurance Practice and contribute to the design, development, enhancement, and delivery of enterprise-level insurance billing and distribution management solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in ICD-ICM Billing or Distribution Management platforms, Java technologies, PL/SQL development, and insurance product engineering.

What You'll Do:

• Understand business and client requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and support insurance billing and distribution management applications.
• Develop high-quality software using software engineering principles and industry best practices.
• Create reusable, scalable, and maintainable application architectures.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and quality engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Develop and enhance enterprise applications using Java technologies and related frameworks.
• Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP-based web services and APIs.
• Design and develop complex SQL and PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and database components.
• Support enterprise integrations between billing platforms and external systems.
• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and solution planning activities.
• Analyze and resolve functional, technical, and production support issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective solutions.
• Provide effort estimations and support project planning activities.
• Drive code quality, coding standards, and development best practices.
• Support application deployments using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with business users, product owners, architects, QA teams, and support teams.
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and production deployments.
• Mentor and guide development teams while promoting technical excellence.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product innovation efforts.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience in software development and enterprise application engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with ICD-ICM Billing or Distribution Management solutions.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Java application development.
• Strong expertise in Core Java, Object-Oriented Design, and software engineering principles.
• Extensive experience with SQL and PL/SQL development.
• Hands-on experience developing RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise integrations and interface solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data migration, deployment, and application lifecycle management.
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
• Strong understanding of application architecture and scalable solution design.
• Experience working with source control tools such as SVN, Git, or similar repositories.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support capabilities.
• Experience working in Insurance, Billing, Distribution Management, or Financial Services domains.
• Prior experience with billing platforms such as Duck Creek or Guidewire is preferred.
• Knowledge of Broker Management, Channel Management, and Commission Processing is desirable.
• Exposure to North American Life & Annuity insurance products is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe delivery methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor development teams.
