The Legal Counsel position reports to the Associate General Counsel in APAC and is responsible for serving as the legal advisor to Olympus Thailand. The Legal Counsel will oversee legal matters for the company's medical device business and corporate structure. The Legal Counsel will provide legal advice to stakeholders for contractual/corporate law, intellectual property, litigation, regulatory, and corporate governance matters.
Responsibility :
- Legal Consultation and Legal / Project Risk Management.
- Contract Management and Legal Support: draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts.
- Ensure contracts align with company policies, risk appetite, and legal requirements
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and internal policies (e.g. corporate governance, data privacy, competition law, labor law).
- Develop and maintain legal policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Coordinate and manage external legal counsels, ensuring quality of legal advice.
Requirements :
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Law (LL.B.) or equivalent
- Professional legal certification is an advantage
- Licensed lawyer and Notarial
Experiences:
- 7-10 years of legal experience in corporate, commercial, or in-house legal
- Minimum 3 years of working in multinational company, medical and healthcare industries is preferred.
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements, including sales contracts, supply and distribution agreements, license agreements, and government contracts.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to effectively manage legal tasks and department operations.
- Business supportive and agile mind set
- Accountability and ownership for the legal advice which will be provided
- Capability to cope short timelines and constrains, which are not under control
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as a positive professional image.
- Native in Thai and Fluent in English (able to draft contracts, participate in conference calls)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
