- Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to senior management and internal stakeholders, particularly collections and commercial finance teams
- Translate complex legal matters into clear, practical guidance for non‑legal teams
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including service agreements, supplier contracts, NDAs, and partnership agreements
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal and contractual risks
- Partner with business teams to support contractual and operational needs
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations related to hire purchase, cheque processes, and asset foreclosure
- Update and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance
- Manage litigation and disputes, working closely with external counsel
- Develop and execute litigation and dispute resolution strategies
- Lead the drafting, review, and implementation of internal legal and compliance policies
- Manage, mentor, and develop members of the legal team
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of legal support
A Successful Legal Manager Should Have
- Bachelor's degree in Law with a valid Attorney‑at‑Law licence
- 7-10 years of relevant legal experience, including 2-5 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong experience in corporate, commercial, and contract law within a regulated environment
- Proven ability to draft and review contracts in English
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail
