Job Description
- Manager, BOI & Logistics
Role and responsibilities.
Import
- Manage end-to-end import process (PO follow-up, shipping documents, customs coordination)
- Verify shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB,COO) for accuracy&compliance
- Coordinate with forwarders, and internal teams for shipment readiness
- Monitor shipment status and ensure on-time delivery to plant/warehouse
- Handle import permit requirements and special documentation such as TISI.
- Ensure compliance with company policy and import regulations
- Maintain import database, reports, and performance tracking (lead time, KPI)
Customs
- Coordinate with Customs broker to prepare and submit customs declaration in compliance with Thai Customs regulations for clearance process
- HS Code classification and duty/tax calculation accuracy
- Handle Customs inspection, discrepancy resolution including re-claim with forwarder & airlines
- Ensure compliance with Customs privileges such as BOI, Free Zone, Bonded warehouse (if applicable ) including Tax refund process.
- Control and maintain Customs documentation and audit readiness
- Monitor regulation updates and ensure internal compliance and including Customs and BOI auditor.
- Contact and visit Government office to make sure BOI procedure Make and prepare documents related to BOI -Free Zone.
Transportation
- Plan and arrange inbound/outbound transportation (local & cross-border) by coordinate with forwarder, LOG and Internal team.
- Optimize route planning, freight cost, and delivery lead time
- Monitor delivery schedule and ensure on-time performance
- Manage forwarder and service performance
- Handle transportation issues (delay, damage, loss) and corrective actions and re-claim.
- Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and company transport requirements
BOI (Board of Investment)
- Manage BOI privileges and ensure full compliance with BOI regulations
- Prepare and submit BOI reports (RMTS, eMT, stock balance, etc.)
- Control import/export under BOI conditions (duty exemption, raw material tracking)
- Coordinate with BOI authority for approvals, audits, and site visits
- Maintain BOI documentation
- Monitor BOI regulation changes and implement process updates by manage extensions, amendments of BOI privileges as needs.
- Support internal teams on BOI-related requirements and benefits utilization
Freight Billing process
- Verify freight invoices against contracted rate, quotation, and service scope
- Check shipment details (weight, volume, route, Incoterm) for billing accuracy
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate with forwarders/vendors for correction
- Control and validate additional charges (surcharge, detention, demurrage)
- Ensure timely invoice approval and submission to Finance for payment
- Maintain freight cost database and support cost analysis and reporting
- Support budgeting planning and cost-saving initiatives
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 10+ years of experience in BOI, customs, import-export, or logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of Thailand BOI regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance.
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers.
- Ability to manage BOI reporting, audits, permits, and regulatory submissions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good communication skills in Thai and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
