Mechanical Design Engineer – Mandarin Speaking

Responsibilities:

1. Design mechanical systems and equipment for non-standard automation projects, including concept development, layout design, technical reviews, and risk assessment
2. Develop mechanical design solutions based on project requirements and prepare material lists and project cost estimates
3. Prepare and review technical proposals and agreements while ensuring design quality, feasibility, and cost effectiveness
4. Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and other relevant teams to provide technical support throughout the project
5. Monitor project planning and design progress, conduct technical discussions, and prepare design proposal presentations for clients
6. Coordinate and act as the main technical contact with external design companies and subcontractors
7. Provide technical support and solutions related to manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical design issues
8. Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues during both the design and on-site implementation stages
9. Coordinate and manage subcontracted suppliers to ensure design quality, project milestones, and deliverables are achieved
10. Support and conduct on-site installation, commissioning, and project acceptance activities
11. Ensure all mechanical designs comply with project requirements, technical standards, quality expectations, and cost targets

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design for non-standard automation or industrial automation equipment
3. Experience in home appliance automation or similar manufacturing industries is highly preferred
4. Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD/CAD, Microsoft Office, and other relevant engineering design tools
5. Strong understanding of non-standard equipment design and industrial automation integration processes
6. Good knowledge of machining processes, materials, mechanical components, and manufacturing methods
7. Experience in design cost estimation, BOM/material costing, and cost control
8. Able to independently handle mechanical design projects from concept through implementation and acceptance
9. Experience in managing external design companies, subcontractors, or equipment suppliers
10. Good analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills
11. Able to communicate effectively in both Chinese and English, including meetings, technical discussions, presentations, and documentation
12. Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
13. Good teamwork and communication skills with a proactive and innovative mindset
14. Able tospeak in Mandarin as need to liaise with China Customer in Thailand and Internal Kuka China Team.
