Job description
Role Summary: Responsible for analyzing sales trends, forecasting future demand to meet financial targets and to ensure the right products are at the right time in the right quantities as well as managing inventory levels to maximize profit.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecasting & Planning: Assist Senior planners preparing baseline forecasts and helping support in reviewing sales trends, future demand, forecast accuracy and explaining major variances. Develop seasonal sales and inventory plans and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets. Helps update forecast versions, new product launch plan and share them with related teams.
- Performance Analysis & Data Collection: Maintain and correct product master data and SKU hierarchy. Gather and console historical sales, sell-through rates, stock covers, and inventory ratios from reporting systems to update weekly and monthly sales performance reports and identify sales and inventory performance as well as risks and opportunities and provide actionable insights to ensure and support sales target achievement.
- Order Placement: Manage the end-to-end order process, ensuring that SKU-level quantities align with sales-to-stock trends and seasonal demand shifts. Monitor and determine right transportation mode for import based on product launch date and sales trends with lead-time optimization and cost-effectiveness.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and sell-through rates. Initiate re-orders, adjustments or cancellations to optimize sales and prevent sales opportunity lost from stock outs and overstock. Create plans to liquidate excessive stock and actively manage the product mix as well as review product life cycle, product assortment and develop exist plans for recommend delisting of underperforming SKUs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as finance, marketing, operation and suppliers to ensure the assortment aligns with the financial plan and customer demand.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in retail planning, demand forecasting, buying, OTB budget and data analysis is a plus within FMCG/ fast and dynamic industry is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency and ability to build complex spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, IF, Pivot Tables,) and Microsoft PowerPoints.
- Analysis and problem-solving skills such as ability to question, accurately identify a need and present an effective solution.
- Fluent in English both speaking, reading and writing.
