Role Description The Partner in Legal, Tax, and Regulatory Affairs (Location: Thailand) is a remote contract role responsible for advising life sciences clients on complex legal, tax, and regulatory matters across domestic and cross-border operations. In this role, the Partner will lead the design and review of legal and tax structures for M&A transactions, joint ventures, and market entry strategies, ensuring alignment with local and international frameworks. Daily activities include providing regulatory interpretation and guidance, overseeing compliance programs, and advising on licensing, approvals, and interactions with authorities. The Partner will collaborate with internal advisors and client leadership to anticipate risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure that operational plans meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The role also involves preparing high-quality advisory documents, participating in client workshops, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of evolving Thai and regional regulations affecting the life sciences sector.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in legal advisory for corporate, commercial, and cross-border transactions, ideally within or related to the life sciences or healthcare sector.
• Strong tax structuring and advisory capabilities for international and domestic operations, including M&A, transfer pricing considerations, and investment structures relevant to Thailand and Southeast Asia.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory affairs and compliance, including familiarity with healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, or related regulatory regimes in Thailand and other key jurisdictions.
• Proven track record advising executive leadership and boards, with the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear strategic options.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills, including the ability to prepare precise opinions, policies, and transaction documentation.
• Native proficiency in Thai and business-level proficiency in English.
• A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in reputable consulting firms, particularly within Big4.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, contract setting, manage multiple client engagements, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant advanced degree such as LL.B./LL.M., tax law qualification, or equivalent; admission to practice law in Thailand or another relevant jurisdiction is highly desirable.
