Position Summary
As the MEP Pre-fab Coordinator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of prefabricated MEP systems for our data center projects, from design optimization and factory manufacturing in China to on-site delivery and installation. You will serve as the critical link between our design, procurement, fabrication, logistics, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Coordination & Optimization
- Review and coordinate MEP design drawings to ensure they are optimized for prefabrication and align with the overall construction schedule.
- Collaborate with the design team to resolve clashes and optimize routing, connection points, and installation sequences for prefabricated components.
- Prefab Equipment Management (China)
- Act as the primary liaison with Chinese prefabrication factories.
- Review and validate shop drawings, fabrication models, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure compliance with specifications and constructability.
- Track and monitor the entire manufacturing process, including schedules, quality control, and factory testing.
- Logistics & On-site Delivery
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of prefabricated components from China, including route surveys, customs clearance, and delivery scheduling.
- Work closely with MEP subcontractors and site teams to ensure proper offloading, storage, and just-in-time delivery to the point of installation.
- Mechanical & Electrical System Knowledge
- Leverage your MEP background to understand system requirements and ensure prefabricated components are designed and installed correctly.
- Provide technical guidance on the installation and integration of prefabricated MEP systems on-site.
- Commissioning (Cx) Support
- Support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for prefabricated systems.
- Ensure all prefabricated components are properly documented, labeled, and ready for commissioning activities.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all prefabrication and delivery documentation.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Construction Manager and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in MEP coordination, with a strong preference for data center or mission-critical projects.
- Proven experience in prefabrication or modular construction projects, preferably with equipment sourced from China.
- Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with a strong electrical background considered a plus.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes (Cx), including FAT/SAT.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin to communicate efficiently with our internal and external partners; additional language skills are a plus.
