Role Description
At PaySo, a Product Owner is not defined simply by managing a backlog, but by how well they bridge the gap between business intent and technical execution. You are the architect of clarity, responsible for turning ambiguous stakeholder needs into well-structured, executable artifacts that both humans and AI-assisted development teams can act upon with precision. In this role, you will support the evolution of our payment products by ensuring requirements are deep, decisions are documented, and the delivery pipeline is fueled by high-quality specs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Backlog Stewardship & Precision
- Support the Product Lead in defining and evolving the product roadmap with clear boundaries and functional contracts.
- Translate high-level business requirements into structured technical artifacts (User Stories, Component Specs, and Execution Briefs).
- Ensure the product backlog is prioritized, traceable, and aligned with the overarching platform context.
2. Ambiguity Reduction & Requirement Gathering
- Actively gather and synthesize requirements from users and stakeholders, converting pains into structured solutions.
- Identify, document, and prioritize issues or bugs, ensuring they are broken down into testable units for the engineering team.
- Reduce system noise by validating requirements against business goals before they reach development.
3. AI-Assisted Product Workflows
- Effectively leverage AI tools to accelerate research, draft documentation, and synthesize user feedback.
- Define clear prompts and constraints to generate reliable product artifacts and market analysis.
- Review and validate AI-generated research and data with strong product judgment.
4. Delivery Collaboration & Quality
- Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure execution remains aligned with the original design intent.
- Monitor key product metrics and delivery loops, providing progress reports that focus on outcomes rather than just output.
- Assist in planning and tracking the product lifecycle from initial discovery to rollout.
5. Platform Context & Research
- Support user research and market analysis to reduce ambiguity in product decisions.
- Maintain PaySo's product documentation, ensuring that all decisions, proposals, and user flows are documented and shared across the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in Product Analysis, Application Support, or relevant technical projects
- Strong ability to convert ambiguity into structured, executable plans
- Excellent written communication (for specs, documentation, and prompts)
- Natural collaborator who can bridge the gap between business and technology
- A positive, high-energy attitude with a focus on continuous learning
- Comfort with AI tools as a daily partner in your product workflow
- Basic understanding of Payment Service Providers (PSP) or Financial Institutions is a plus
- Experience with Agile methodologies and modern project management tools is a plus
