Purchasing Manager - Japanese Speaker

The Purchasing Manager - Japanese Speaker role leads purchasing operations for a manufacturing company based in Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan. This onsite position plays a key part in strengthening procurement performance, developing supplier relationships, managing the purchasing team, and coordinating with Japanese-speaking management and the company's headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all purchasing activities to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect materials in support of production requirements
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives
• Negotiate prices, contracts, and commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers to secure the best business conditions
• Evaluate, develop, and maintain supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance and compliance
• Lead and manage the purchasing team, establish departmental key performance indicators (KPI), and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate and communicate with Japanese-speaking management and the company's headquarters, including preparing reports and conducting business discussions in Japanese
• Handle Board of Investment (BOI)-related purchasing activities and ensure compliance with BOI regulations, import and export requirements, and company policies
• Analyse purchasing data, market trends, and cost structures to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency
  
  

Requirements

• Good command of written and spoken Japanese, including strong reading and listening skills
• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least 5 years of experience in a managerial position
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Experience with BOI procedures and regulations
  
  

Additional information

• Monthly salary: THB 60,000 to THB 80,000
