Quality Director

Location: Southern Malaysia

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Site General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining an effective Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and driving consistent quality practices across the organisation. The role will work closely with senior management, engineering teams, customers, suppliers and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the site Quality function.
• Develop, implement and maintain quality policies, procedures and systems.
• Establish quality objectives and improvement plans.
• Review quality issues and discrepancy reports, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Evaluate and monitor existing and potential suppliers.
• Work closely with customers to address quality requirements, issues and expectations.
• Partner with Engineering to ensure quality requirements are incorporated into new products and manufacturing processes.
• Support senior management in developing quality-related policies, procedures, goals and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and quality standards.
• Keep up to date with developments and best practices within the industry.
• Build, develop and retain a capable and motivated Quality team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Master's degree or MBA would be an advantage.
• At least 8-10 years of management experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, regulatory requirements and applicable quality standards.
• Strong project management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to interpret complex technical documents and quality data.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, customers and other stakeholders.
• Comfortable working with statistical concepts and quality-related data.
