The Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of Sales Representatives to achieve sales objectives and deliver sustainable business growth within the assigned territory. The role drives execution of the company's commercial strategies through effective field coaching, performance management, customer engagement, and people development. The Sales Manager works closely with the National Sales Manager and cross-functional teams to strengthen customer relationships, improve sales effectiveness, and ensure all business activities are conducted ethically and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
Sales Performance & Territory Management
- Lead the national sales organization to achieve sales objectives and deliver sustainable business growth.
- Develop and execute national sales plans aligned with the company's commercial strategy.
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and business opportunities, and implement appropriate actions to maximize results.
- Drive accurate sales forecasting and effective business planning.
Field Coaching & People Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Sales Representatives to improve sales capability and execution excellence.
- Conduct regular field coaching to strengthen product knowledge, consultative selling, customer engagement, and territory management.
- Establish clear performance expectations and provide timely coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and customer focus
Customer & Commercial Excellence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, key opinion leaders, and strategic accounts within the assigned territory.
- Support Sales Representatives in managing strategic customer opportunities and complex business negotiations.
- Ensure effective execution of commercial strategies and consistent customer experience across the territory.
- Drive customer-focused solutions that build long-term business partnerships.
Business Planning & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Marketing, Sales Operations, Logistics/4PL Partner, HR, and other functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure effective implementation of marketing programs, product launches, and commercial initiatives within the territory.
- Support inventory planning and operational excellence to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
Market Intelligence & Business Improvement
- Monitor market dynamics, competitive activities, reimbursement landscape, and customer needs within the assigned territory.
- Provide timely market insights and recommendations to the National Sales Manager and Product Marketing.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales effectiveness, customer engagement, and territory performance.
Governance, Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all sales activities within the team are conducted in accordance with company policies, quality management systems, applicable regulations, and industry ethical standards.
- Promote a culture of integrity, compliance, and patient-focused business practices.
Organizational Contribution
- Participate in business reviews and sales meetings.
- Support cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the National Sales Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Minimum 2 years of people management or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Experience in interventional cardiology or cardiovascular medical devices is preferred.
- Good understanding of hospital purchasing processes, tender management, and healthcare reimbursement.
- Good understanding of sales performance management, forecasting, and territory planning.
- Knowledge of ethical business practices and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
