Job Description

About Us

Unicorn British International School (U-BIS) is a Cambridge-accredited British international school in Surat Thani, from Early Years to Key Stage 3. We believe every child can be made a strong learner. Classes are 10–20 pupils, learning is inquiry-led with project-based work across the curriculum, and pupils take part in a full co-curricular programme — from Science Fair, Community Service and Stage Play to TEDx and 15 after-school clubs each term. Our teachers come from many countries and work as one team.

Why Join Us

We are small enough that your work is visible and your ideas reach the people who can act on them, and established enough that you are not building from nothing. If you want a school where what you do in the classroom is noticed, this is it.

About the Roles

We are recruiting two STEM teachers for Key Stage 2–3, Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary. Both roles work closely with subject leads on planning, assessment and lesson observation.

Maths Teacher — You will deliver the Cambridge Maths pathway across Key Stage 2–3, building pupils fluency and reasoning through inquiry-led lessons, and contribute to our Signature Coding and STEM programme, where mathematical thinking is applied through computing.

Science Teacher — You will lead practical, investigation-based Science lessons across Key Stage 2–3, guide pupils through their Science Fair projects, and help develop our Young Researcher Program for pupils who want to take their investigations further.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science or Maths lessons aligned to the Cambridge curriculum, incorporating project-based approaches where appropriate
  • Take an active role in pupil safeguarding and welfare — following the school's child protection procedures, reporting concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and ensuring every pupil is safe, supported and heard
  • Contribute to the development of our STEM programme, connecting your subject with Science, Technology and Coding across Key Stage 2–3
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to pupils and parents
  • Contribute to our co-curricular programme, Science Fair projects and after-school clubs
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a science discipline or Mathematics, as relevant to the role; Education or closely related degrees are considered where subject teaching experience is strong
  • At least one year of teaching experience in your subject, ideally in a British or international school with Key Stage 2–3 frameworks
  • Currently based in Thailand
  • Effective classroom management and differentiation, with the ability to create an inclusive, pupil-centred learning environment
  • Excellent spoken and written English, and confidence with educational technology and digital resources
  • Commitment to safeguarding, continuous professional development, and respectful engagement with a multicultural school community

What We Offer

  • Salary is set individually, based on qualifications and teaching experience
  • 10 weeks of paid holiday per year, across the three term breaks
  • 12-month contract, Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30, with visa and work permit provided
  • An international teaching community, working as one team
  • A school where your work is visible and your professional growth is supported

  • How to Apply

Send your CV, degree documents and a short video introducing yourself to [Confidential Information] with the subject line Science Teacher Applicant or Maths Teacher Applicant.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
