Role Description The Section Manager of Piping Material Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Rayong, Thailand. This role oversees the piping material engineering section, ensuring appropriate material selection, specification, and compliance with relevant codes and standards for projects. Daily responsibilities include reviewing and approving material data sheets, coordinating with design, procurement, and construction teams, and providing technical guidance on materials, corrosion, and metallurgy issues. The Section Manager leads R&D initiatives related to piping materials, supports troubleshooting of material-related problems in the field, and maintains documentation and reports for quality and safety audits. The role also involves mentoring engineers in the section, managing workloads, and contributing to continuous improvement of material engineering processes.
Qualifications

Strong expertise in materials and material selection, with the ability to specify suitable piping materials for diverse operating conditions.
Solid foundation in materials science and metallurgy, including understanding of corrosion, degradation mechanisms, and mechanical properties.
Experience in Research and Development (R&D) related to piping materials or industrial materials, including testing, evaluation, and implementation of new solutions.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in piping material engineering in industrial sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or heavy industry.
Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards for piping and materials (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API) and plant specifications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Effective leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to manage a section team and work with cross-functional stakeholders.
Ability to work on-site in Rayong, Thailand and manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic industrial environment.
