We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Bangkok. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with Thai accounting standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager and other departments to provide timely and accurate financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Analyze financial results and provide insights into variances, trends, and forecasts.
2. General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all account balances.
- Review journal entries and reconcile accounts, ensuring timely reporting of financial results.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and collections.
- Conduct regular reconciliations and follow up on outstanding balances.
4. Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT and corporate income tax.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and assist in tax audits.
5. Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial results are recorded accurately and on time.
- Prepare working papers and documentation for audits.
6. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide insights and recommendations.
7. Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and recommend solutions.
8. Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the operations team to provide financial insights related to freight forwarding activities.
- Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc financial analyses and reporting as required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls related to accounts receivable and account payable.
- Strong knowledge of Thai accounting regulations and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
