Senior Mobile Engineer (TILD)

CJ Express Group is one of Thailand's leading convenience store operators. Our Technology Innovation Lab & Decision Intelligence (TILDI) team is building an AI-powered platform for retail operations at scale across Southeast Asia.

We use a lean, AI-assisted development methodology where a small team of senior professionals delivers what traditionally requires a much larger team.

The Role:

You own features end-to-end — from understanding the business problem and designing the user experience, to planning implementation, reviewing AI-generated output, integrating backend services, and deploying to production.

You will primarily build mobile applications with Flutter, while also working across data and AI-powered workflows.

You spend more time on architecture, planning, problem-solving, create agents/ skills for mobile best practice and reviewing AI-assisted implementation than simply writing code.

What You Will Do:

• Own features end-to-end across mobile, backend, and data layers
• Build production mobile applications using Flutter and Dart
• Design scalable mobile architecture including state management, navigation, networking, local storage, and offline capabilities
• Write technical plans that translate business requirements into clear and precise implementation specifications
• Design and maintain distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Work with event streaming and asynchronous processing
• Integrate REST APIs, backend services, and real-time data into mobile applications
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into production workflows and mobile experiences
• Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLite, and local mobile storage
• Test on real iOS and Android devices in real operational environments
• Improve mobile and backend performance, reliability, observability, and scalability
• Review AI-generated code and architecture to ensure correctness, maintainability, security, and quality
• Document reusable patterns, architecture decisions, and engineering insights that improve future development

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong experience building production applications
• Strong Flutter and Dart experience, including shipping applications to production
• Strong mobile architecture patterns such as BLoC, Riverpod, Clean Architecture, or similar
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and software design principles
• Experience designing APIs and distributed backend systems
• Experience integrating mobile applications with backend APIs and distributed systems
• Production experience at scale — you have shipped features used by real users
• AI-assisted development fluency using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similar
• Event-driven architecture experience
• Database proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, and SQLite
• Experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, API, and mobile UI testing
• Understanding of mobile CI/CD, application signing, and App Store / Google Play deployment
• Quality-first mindset with strong ownership of reliability, maintainability, performance, and user experience

Nice to Have:

• Native Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift) experience
• Experience with web frameworks such as Nextjs, Reactjs, Svelte
• Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers
• Experience with Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or similar event streaming technologies
• Experience with Firebase or mobile observability platforms
• Computer vision or machine learning experience
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into mobile applications
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
• Retail or operations domain background
• Thai language ability
