Job Description
Role Overview
A hands-on position, responsible for developing and executing demand plans which enable the cluster to achieve the sales and service objectives. Close collaboration with other members of the supply chain, sales, marketing, and in-country customer support teams are a key element of this function.
This Senior Demand Planning position will support all forecasting activities associated with customers, sales force and products in the country. The Senior Demand Planner will collate, challenge and maintain forecast models and ensure they are maintained and published according to the global planning calendar. This role will drive the incorporation of business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance and other sources. The Senior Demand Planner will have responsibility for at least two clusters or two franchises.
Key Responsibilities
- Using one source of truth (Maestro by Kinaxis) and some supporting data sources (SIOP dashboards) develop a solid cluster planning process with regular meeting cadence, clear KPIs and targets and agreed roles and responsibilities amongst the identified stakeholders
- Analyse the historical demand trends, understand the exceptions and events which drove them and decide if they need to be considered in the future plans
- Understand the sales strategy and focus within the portfolio to ensure the demand accuracy efforts are correctly weighted
- Based mainly on statistical modelling and market insights develop long range (36 months) demand forecasts in the three key channels (revenue, non-revenue and capex)
- Facilitate regular (at least monthly) reviews with cluster marketing, commercial and finance to achieve a consensus on the proposed plan prior to publish
- Maintain alignment between demand plan and financial plan, list and understand assumptions and call out the exceptions
- Provide insights to the supply planning organization, focus on significant forecast changes month over month, support assessing the impact of change on both company service levels and inventory as well as E&O
- Achieve or exceed the planning KPI targets (forecast accuracy, forecast bias, FVA)
- Provide- representation and insightful support to other key stages of the Integrated Business Planning process
- Support planning leadership, represent planning within the region
Qualifications and Experience
- BA/BS college degree or its equivalent / relevant experience
- Kinaxis learning platform education or significant Maestro experience
- Working knowledge or ERP systems (SAP, AXAPTA)
- Minimum five years experience in a similar demand planning/forecasting role
