Site Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a competent and experienced Site Engineer to support the construction and site management of a major hospital project in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, monitoring construction works, reviewing technical drawings, conducting inspections, and ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with approved specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor daily construction activities at the project site.
• Coordinate with the Construction Manager, Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist construction drawings.
• Coordinate technical and site issues with consultants, subcontractors, and relevant project personnel.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress, workmanship, and quality.
• Assist in checking dimensions, levels, setting-out, materials, and completed works.
• Monitor construction progress against the approved project programme and report delays or technical issues.
• Prepare and maintain site records, inspection reports, progress reports, and other technical documentation.
• Assist with preparation and submission of technical documents, method statements, material submissions, inspection requests, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and defect rectification works.
• Monitor subcontractors work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Identify construction defects, discrepancies, and non-conforming works and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with workplace safety requirements and project safety procedures.
• Participate in site meetings and provide technical updates to the Construction Manager or Project Manager.
• Assist with quantity measurement, variation works, material verification, and other project-related activities.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist works to minimize site clashes and delays.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager or Construction Manager.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant site engineering or construction experience.
• Prior experience in hospital or healthcare construction projects is required.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, site coordination, inspection, and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Familiarity with architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist construction works.
• Knowledge of Singapore construction practices and workplace safety requirements.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience with BIM or other construction software will be an advantage.
• Strong technical, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced construction site environment.
• Willing to work on construction sites and according to project requirements.
