Job Description

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Playwright with TypeScript, functional testing, and AI-assisted testing tools.

The candidate should be capable of designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts while leveraging AI tools to improve test coverage, productivity, and script maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain UI automation scripts using Playwright with TypeScript.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Design and execute test scenarios, test cases, and automation scripts based on business requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and report defects with appropriate evidence and technical details.
• Maintain and enhance existing Playwright automation frameworks.
• Implement self-healing / AI-assisted automation scripts to handle changes in locators, UI elements, and application behavior.
• Use Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or other AI tools for test case generation, script creation, debugging, optimization, and maintenance.
• Evaluate application behavior and validate that automated tests accurately reflect functional requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and business teams to resolve defects and improve application quality.
• Contribute to improving automation framework architecture, reusability, and reliability.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright + TypeScript.
• Good understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience in functional testing and software testing fundamentals.
• Experience in automation framework development and maintenance.
• Understanding of locators, assertions, fixtures, hooks, test data management, and Page Object Model (POM).
• Experience with AI-assisted software testing.
• Practical experience using Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI tools.
• Understanding of self-healing / resilient automation concepts.
• Good knowledge of Git and CI/CD.
• Experience with API testing is an added advantage.

Good to Have

• Experience with MCP / AI agents / Agentic AI for software testing.
• Experience integrating Playwright automation with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of API automation using tools such as Postman or Playwright APIRequest.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.
• Knowledge of SQL/database validation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have a combination of strong functional testing knowledge, hands-on Playwright + TypeScript automation experience, and practical usage of AI tools to accelerate and improve the testing lifecycle.
