Sustainable Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

Climate & Carbon Management

• Own the Group GHG inventory (Scope 1, Scope 2, and material Scope 3 categories) — set the data boundary, run annual collection, and secure third-party verification.
• Translate the Climate Strategy into a costed decarbonisation roadmap with annual reduction targets by business unit.
• Lead abatement initiatives across energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy, and behaviour change — build the business case, track abatement delivered, and report cost per tonne.

Reporting & Disclosure

• Run the annual disclosure cycle end-to-end against IFRS S1/S2, GRI, TCFD, and the FTSE Russell ESG assessment — owning the calendar, data controls, and sign-off path.
• Build and maintain the sustainability data architecture — defined metrics, named data owners in each function, and an audit trail sufficient for external assurance.
• Lead the materiality assessment refresh and translate the results into strategy priorities and disclosure scope.

Project & Programme Delivery

• Plan and deliver the sustainability project portfolio — scope, budget, timeline, and resourcing — escalating trade-offs early rather than at deadline.
• Track portfolio performance against SD KPIs and report variance, with corrective action, to the Head of Sustainability monthly.

Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building

• Act as sustainability business partner to operations, procurement, HR, and finance — securing data, commitment, and delivery from functions outside direct authority.
• Prepare and present sustainability content to the executive committee, investors, rating agencies, customers, and regulators.
• Monitor emerging regulation and market standards (e.g., CBAM, SEC/SET requirements, IFRS updates) and brief management on the business implications.
• Build sustainability literacy across the organisation through training, toolkits, and internal communications.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in corporate sustainability, ESG reporting, or environmental project management.
• Experience in leading double-materiality assessment and structured stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ownership of a corporate GHG inventory (Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3) — including data collection design and external verification.
• Hands-on experience producing a published sustainability report against a recognised framework (GRI, IFRS S1/S2, TCFD, or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of the GHG Protocol and at least one ESG rating or assessment process (FTSE Russell, DJSI/CSA, CDP, or SET ESG Ratings).
• Experience in retail business is preferred.
• Proven project management capability — control of budget, timeline, and resources on multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate sustainability topics clearly and effectively.
• Professional working proficiency in Thai and English, written and spoken — disclosures and management reporting are produced in both.
