Sciometrix is seeking a Technical Lead to lead a team of developers responsible for building and enhancing applications, features, automations, and reporting solutions that support our Finance and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) operations. The TPM will drive execution, prioritize initiatives, and ensure the timely delivery of scalable and high-quality solutions.
The Core Responsibilities For The Job Include The Following
Program Leadership and Delivery (Primary Focus):
- Lead and manage a team of backend developers delivering finance and RCM-related applications, platforms, and system enhancements, ensuring high-quality engineering standards and timely execution.
- Own end-to-end program execution - from requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing, release management, and post-production support.
- Translate operational and business needs into clear technical requirements, architecture designs, user stories, and delivery milestones for the development team.
- Drive Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, dependency management, and release cycles.
- Ensure timely delivery of features impacting eligibility verification, claims processing, remittance posting, denial management, patient billing, reimbursement workflows, and financial reporting systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices architecture supporting healthcare and finance platforms.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, RCM, Clinical Operations, and QA teams to ensure solutions meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and performance optimization.
- Conduct code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical troubleshooting to maintain system reliability and maintainability.
- Ensure systems are built with security, compliance, and data integrity standards relevant to healthcare and financial workflows (e. g., HIPAA compliance where applicable).
- Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, especially for high-volume healthcare transaction workflows.
- Oversee system integrations with third-party healthcare platforms, clearinghouses, EHR/EMR systems, and payment gateways.
- Monitor production environments, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvements and automation.
- Drive documentation of system architecture, APIs, workflows, and technical processes to support long-term scalability and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, monitoring, and incident response processes are robust and efficient.
- Support data-driven decision-making by enabling backend data pipelines and reporting infrastructure used by Finance and RCM leadership.
- Participate in capacity planning, technical hiring, and performance evaluation of engineering team members.
Requirements
- 5-6 years of experience in technical program management, software delivery, or engineering leadership.
- Strong experience in backend development using Node.js and Python.
- Expertise in REST API development and microservices architecture.
- Experience working with React-based frontend teams and API integrations.
- 4+ years of hands-on development experience (backend or full stack preferred).
- Experience leading small engineering teams or managing cross-functional technical initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare technology or health-tech startups.
- Exposure to financial reporting systems and reconciliation workflows.
- Familiarity with clearinghouses and claims submission standards (e. g., HL7 EDI 837/835).
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
