We're hiring a General Manager / Country Manager to run a profitable Bangkok office for an international logistics business with a strong global customer base. The Managing Director is heavily focused on sales and project cargo, so this role is the day-to-day engine room leader: operations, people, performance, and discipline.

This is not a corporate sit back and report job. It needs a hands-on, all-round operator who understands Thai culture, can coach + challenge, and isn't afraid to manage.

The role

• Lead the Bangkok branch day-to-day (team 10 across ops, sales, and finance)
• Bring structure and accountability to a team that needs firmer management and clearer standards
• Oversee freight forwarding operations (general cargo) with exposure to project cargo (high % of business)
• Partner closely with the MD to keep execution tight and customers happy
• Drive service quality, productivity, and operational discipline (SOPs, KPIs, follow-through)
• Manage employee relations: coaching, performance improvement, fair but firm standards
• Improve stability in support functions
• Act as the senior local leader for internal stakeholders and key customers

What we're looking for

• Strong background in Freight Forwarding (FF) or 3PL/Contract Logistics
• Experience in the Thailand market with an existing network and understanding of local working culture
• Proven people manager: you can lead ops + commercial teams and hold standards without creating chaos
• Comfortable in a roll your sleeves up environment you'll be visible, present, and decisive
• International company exposure preferred (especially working with US/ European clients/customers)
• We want someone capable, hungry, and well-rounded who can run a branch properly
