Role Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, generating qualified leads, managing end-to-end sales cycles, participating in GEM and tender-based business opportunities, expanding the company's customer base, and building long-term client relationships. The role requires a strategic mindset with strong experience in IT Services sales, enterprise business development, market research, proposal management, and revenue generation.
Requirements
Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Enterprise, SMB, Government, and Public Sector organizations.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, digital platforms, events, and strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through CRM and regular follow-ups.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and solution demonstrations to convert prospects into customers.
- Manage the complete sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure.
Government Business (GeM & Tenders)
- Identify relevant business opportunities through the GeM portal and various government tender portals.
- Review tender documents, eligibility criteria, technical specifications, and commercial requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to prepare technical and commercial bids.
- Ensure timely submission of bids while maintaining compliance with tender requirements.
- Track tender status, clarifications, negotiations, and award processes.
- Maintain documentation related to GeM registrations, certifications, and compliance.
Revenue Generation
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Increase profitability through strategic pricing and solution positioning.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling IT services to existing customers.
- Develop strategic account plans for key clients.
Market Research & Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct market research to identify emerging technologies, customer needs, and industry trends.
- Analyse competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning.
- Identify new industry verticals and geographic markets for expansion.
- Recommend business strategies based on market insights.
Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with customers, partners, and key decision-makers.
- Understand client business challenges and propose suitable IT solutions.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Coordinate with delivery and technical teams for successful project transitions.
Proposal & Bid Management
- Prepare high-quality proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, presentations, and commercial quotations.
- Collaborate with technical, finance, legal, and delivery teams during proposal preparation.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contract conditions with clients.
Reporting & Sales Governance
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
- Track KPIs, conversion ratios, and business performance metrics.
- Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports for management.
- Ensure CRM data accuracy and timely reporting.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of IT Services, Managed Services, Cloud, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, or Software Solutions.
- Hands-on experience with GeM Portal and Government Tender Management.
- Strong B2B sales and enterprise business development expertise.
- Excellent negotiation and client relationship management skills.
- Strong proposal writing and bid management capabilities.
- Market research and competitive analysis skills.
- Revenue planning and forecasting.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- MBA (Sales & Marketing) preferred.
