About the Role:
We are looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer to join our Business Technology & Innovation (BTI) team and help strengthen how data is used across our regional business.
You will turn data from our business systems into reliable reports, dashboards and insights that support different department. You will also play a key role in improving data quality, identifying inconsistencies and building more efficient, automated reporting processes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with real-world business data, solving data issues and turning complex information into something people can trust and act on.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Data Extraction & Integration
- Extract data reliably from our business systems through automated and repeatable processes.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, Python scripts and data pipelines to reduce manual data preparation.
- Integrate information from ERP, CRM, accounting and other relevant business systems.
- Support the development of a scalable data structure for regional reporting and analytics.
2. Data Quality & Validation
- Validate business data and investigate discrepancies across reports, systems and data sources.
- Identify incorrect, incomplete or inconsistent data and trace issues back to their source.
- Establish appropriate validation checks to improve the reliability and consistency of reporting.
- Challenge existing numbers and assumptions when the underlying data does not support them.
- Document data definitions, business logic and reporting methodologies to create greater transparency and consistency.
3. Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports used by different departments and management teams.
- Translate business requirements into practical data and reporting solutions.
- Improve existing reports by simplifying processes, automating recurring work and strengthening data accuracy.
- Ensure key business metrics are clearly defined, traceable and consistently reported across the organisation.
4. Business Partnership
- Work directly with stakeholders across Southeast Asia to understand their reporting and analytical needs.
- Investigate data-related questions and explain findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide evidence-based insights while maintaining independence and objectivity.
- Constructively challenge existing processes and reporting practices where opportunities for improvement are identified.
- Understand the reason behind existing processes before proposing changes and build stakeholder confidence through evidence and collaboration.
7. Special Projects
- Support other projects and tasks assigned by the company
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering (specifically Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic, or related quantitative engineering fields).
- 3–6 years of professional experience working with business or organisational data in a commercial environment.
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to independently work with joins, grouping, aggregation and data validation.
- Working knowledge of Python, particularly for extracting, cleaning, transforming and loading data.
- Hands-on experience developing dashboards or recurring reports that are actively used by business stakeholders.
- Experience working with data from an ERP, CRM, accounting system or similar enterprise system.
- Experience with platforms such as Odoo, SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics would be relevant.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inconsistencies and investigate root causes.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership as a subject-matter specialist.
- Able to challenge assumptions professionally when the available data does not support a conclusion.
- Good written and spoken English, with the ability to collaborate with regional colleagues across Southeast Asia
