Job Description

Responsibilities

Human Resources Office

  • Implement corporate Human Resources policies, systems, procedures, rules and regulations. Ensure distribution and implementation by all departments and sections. Monitor deviations, issue interpretations, reminders, and take collective action when appropriate
  • Direct/lead the Human Resources Team Members to orient non-managerial Team Members
  • Periodically review and make recommendations for revisions, amendments, abolitions, and/or the drafting of implementing rules and procedures as may be required by the current needs of the organization in consultation with Corporate HR and the General Manager
  • Prepare, revise, and amend as needed: Team Member Handbook

Organization Structure

  • Review and validate the organizational structure whenever necessary or as scheduled by the General Manager

Employment

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the performance of functions related to employment such as recruitment, preliminary screening, hiring, placement, and orientation
  • Ensure compliance by the Team Members, other departments and sections with policies, procedures, rules and regulations

Wage and Salary Administration

  • Following general guidelines from the General Manager and in consultation with Corporate Compensation & Benefits, prepare wage and salary structures and implementation guidelines for all levels of Team Members of the hotel. Upon approval of the scale by the General Manager and Director Compensation & Benefits,, ensure implementation, monitor deviations; advise departments and sections concerned
  • Support understanding and implementation of the Performance Appraisal program, monitor and act on recommendation/result
  • Inform management of decrees and issuances affecting wages and their interpretation and implementation

Team Member Relations

  • Plan annual Team Member relations programme directed towards maintenance/improvement of relations between management and Team Members; submit same for approval of the General Manager. Upon approval, supervise implementation within approved Human Resources budget and in accordance with established timetable. Such programmes may be included with sports, recreational, social and other activities which will improve communication, and draw the Team Members closer to management and enhance loyalty
  • Conduct dissemination and/or publication of information affecting employer-Team Member relations, Team Member activities and programmes

Industrial Labour Relations

  • Ensure hotel's policies are in compliance with labour laws; take collective action in case of deviations
  • Keep abreast of and inform management of developments and trends in the local labour situation
  • Advise management and departments in the interpretation and implementation of new decrees

Team Member Benefits and Welfare

  • Initiate benefit programme packages for all levels on the basis of priority needs of the Team Members, outlining mechanics and costs, and submit for approval of the General Manager. Upon approval, supervise and monitor their administration
  • Supervise and monitor the implementation of mandatory and fringe benefits
  • Conduct surveys of benefits in the hotel industry

Learning and Development

  • Implement corporate designed and mandated training programmes
  • Recommend management/supervisory, specific professional programmes and other training based on needs analysis, and submit for approval of the General Manager after consultation with Corporate L&D. Supervise implementation.
  • Coordinate with all Department Heads for on-the-job training

Team Member Discipline

  • Counsel/advise Department/Section Heads on the administration of discipline
  • Make sure that its implementation is undertaken in compliance with laws, policies, rules and regulations

Record Management

  • Supervise Team Members engaged in records maintenance and control
  • Supervise Team Members assigned in the classification, filing, issuance, and control of permanent records of Team Members, confidential documents, and other Team Members files
  • Ensure that the security of important and confidential documents is properly handled

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as Director, Human Resources in a 4- or 5-star hotel. (preferably in a 5-star hotel)
