JOB POSITION: ENVIRONMENTAL OR EHS CONSULTANT

SLP Environmental is currently seeking an entry (Graduate) to mid-level Environmental Consultant or EHS Consultant to be based at our ASEAN headquarters located in Bangkok, Thailand. The successful candidate will be primarily supporting our existing environmental and health and safety services team working with a variety of industry clients and will be exposed to a variety of environmental related projects, such as Phase 1 ESAs, Phase 2 ESAs, EIA, EHS, ESDD, waste, sustainability and ecological projects.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in this field with a background in environmental, social sciences or health and safety.

Role Responsibilities:

· Work on technical Environmental and/or Health and Safety or Due Diligence projects.

· Have excellent English language skills (reading, speaking and technical writing) are mandatory as all consultancy work is conducted in the English language.

· Review & write technical reports in English Language and review and translate Thai documents to English language.

· Understand and have knowledge of national environmental and health and safety laws and their implementation.

· Manage legislative issues for clients and maintain an awareness of how national legislation impacts projects.

· Have competence in reviewing documents, determining compliance and presenting findings.

· Write technical reports to present findings, analysis and recommendations.

· Perform site visits/inspections/assessment and supervise subcontractors as per project requirements.

· Work on background research, data collection, regulatory reviews, project research, reviewing maps, writing reports.

· Visit government departments to collect maps, aerial site photos and data reports.

· Speak to clients, laboratories, government departments and other consultants.

· Support our other offices throughout ASEAN based on project needs and opportunities.

· Undertake project management duties across projects as needed and instructed by senior staff.

· Assist & mentor members of staff with data collection, project research and data review as directed.

· Assist in building and maintaining good relations with clients, contractors and sub consultants.

· Be able to work well in a team and within multi-cultural environments.

· Must be process and results orientated and able to work independently and as part of a team.

· Must be able to travel internationally to visit project sites and undertake projects throughout the ASEAN region. Must be willing to visit factories, land, offices and industrial estates for environmental auditing throughout Thailand and the ASEAN region.

· The role will be 40% working in the office and 60% working on project sites.

· Must be willing to learn new computer programs e.g. ArcView, AutoCAD etc.

· Must complete administration duties in the office for your colleagues and senior management.

Applicants MUST:

· Have a Bachelor and Masters qualifications in Environmental, Social, Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Health and Safety or a related degree.

· Be willing to travel (visiting sites upcountry and also across South East Asia).

· Must be fluent (speaking, writing and reading) in Thai language.

· Must speak, read and write English to a high professional level. Provide a TOEIC Score: >700 points.

· Have a full Thai Driving License.

· Have undertaken an Internship and have experience working for a large Company.

· Be computer literate (MS Office). 

· Be self-motivated, reliable, punctual, organised, possess good interpersonal

skills and be a good team player.

· Want to learn new skills and broaden your environmental experience.
