Job Purpose:
Lead APLL's finance operations for a country with large-scale/complex operations through managing the budgeting, accounting, reporting, and collections processes at the country level, as well as leading continuous improvement and technology transformation of country finance operations.
Responsibilities:
Finance Operations
- Lead the periodic country financial closing and reporting to senior leadership on balance sheet and P&L statements.
- Lead adherence to established standards for Finance data quality for reporting purposes.
- Lead the country finance operations team in ensuring collections meet established targets to ensure financial sustainability of APLL's operations.
- Coordinate and support the budgeting and forecasting process for the country, working with the operations and commercial leadership team to ensure accuracy and alignment with the strategic goals.
- Responsible for the effective maintenance of the books of accounts and the preparation and submission of financial reports, including records and analyses, to internal and external interested parties.
- Responsible for ensuring tax compliance and other related statutory requirements.
- Support business investment opportunities, financial strategies, and ensure ventures are well managed.
- Lead the stable working capital, liaise with Corp Treasury for fund requirements, oversee and sign off on payments for various purposes in line with authorized limits.
Process Improvement
- Support global project in the implementation of a Finance systems technology roadmap, coordinating implementation of new systems.
- Coordinate user testing at the country level for enhancements to Finance systems or for development and implementation of new systems.
- Drive change management within country Finance teams, working with the IT team, to ensure smooth and successful adoption of new business processes and associated technologies and systems.
- Conduct deep dive and root cause analysis on critical and recurring country Finance operations issues to discuss, identify, and implement solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Finance processes and controls.
- Drive adoption of continuous improvement approaches and processes within the country finance team.
- Oversee internal and statutory audit processes within the country, leading action to address audit findings, and ensuring robust controls to prevent future audit issues.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a business partner to country Operations heads for large-scale/complex country operations, advising them on budgets and operational matters from a financial perspective.
- Maintain relationships with customers to work on addressing finance issues, ensuring timely collections, etc.
- Observe, interpret, and comply with the local tax regulations, working together with the Tax Manager to ensure compliance and best enjoy the eligible tax benefit.
- Be the legal representative of the company and review and sign operational contracts and follow other legal processes.
Team & People Management
- Review and take steps to ensure the country finance team has the right skills and capabilities to deliver the team's mandates and serve APLL efficiently and effectively.
- Oversee robust career planning and pathing, and succession planning to ensure effective career development for team members, and adequate pipeline of talent for succession to key positions.
- Build a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within the country finance operations team.
Requirements:
- General Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, with CPA qualifications or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience and have held a senior role for at least 3 years. Audit and Tax exposure is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, team-oriented, and good communication skills.
- Strong business acumen, numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
