Legal Manager
Job Description
A trading company is looking for legal manager. The successful candidate will report to head of legal and be in charge of the overall legal activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including sales, purchase, distribution, logistics, and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with importexport laws, customs regulations, trade controls, and licensing requirements across operating markets.
- Provide legal advice to commercial, procurement, logistics, and finance teams on day-to-day business activities.
- Identify legal risks in trading transactions and propose practical mitigation strategies.
- Manage disputes, claims, and litigation involving customers, suppliers, logistics partners, or authorities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain legal and compliance policies, procedures, and contract templates.
- Oversee corporate governance and secretarial matters, including board resolutions, statutory filings, and entity maintenance.
- Liaise and coordinate with external legal counsel, regulators, customs authorities, and government agencies.
- Support strategic initiatives such as new market entry, partnerships, distribution structures, and joint ventures.
- Conduct legal training and awareness programs to strengthen compliance culture across the organization.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's in law (LL.B.).
- Minimum 812 years of legal experience, preferably in trading, importexport, distribution, or commercial sectors.
- Strong expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Good command of English (written and spoken); additional regional language skills are an advantage.
